Curious Jane Launches Refreshed Website

Bold. Expert. Friendly. That’s the Curious Jane of today. 

This isn’t the same agency it was nearly two decades ago, and we needed a website that reflected that evolution. In short, Jane needed a digital facelift. 

At Curious Jane, we treat our own brand with the same level of care and strategy as we do our clients. That means practicing what we preach and taking our own advice when it comes to keeping our online look fresh, with a sleek design, creative copy and imagery that reflects our identity as an agency. 

Time for a Change 

The previous design of Curious Jane’s website had served its purpose, but circumstances, services and clients have changed over the years. It no longer reflected the full depth of our expertise, services and personality. 

A new website was needed to redefine how the agency represents our brand in the digital space. A website often serves as the first point of contact a brand has with new clients or customers, and we wanted to put our best foot forward. Curious Jane needed a website that captured the sophistication and maturity we have developed as an agency. 

Curious Jane isn’t a small, local agency. We’re a national, full-service franchise advertising agency that provides consumer marketing, franchise development services and local store marketing to its clients. We offer a full menu of services, including brand strategy, branding and creative, media strategy and buying, customer lifecycle automation, web design and development and public relations. 

And showcasing those services doesn’t exactly translate well to a business card.

Becoming the Client 

When we develop brand strategies for clients, we start by gathering diverse insights, and we applied that same process to ourselves. We conducted internal interviews with team members from different departments to gain a holistic understanding of how people viewed Curious Jane. 

We asked questions like: 

  • How would you describe Curious Jane? 
  • What do you think Curious Jane, as a brand, cares about most? 
  • If Curious Jane walked into a party, how would they act? 

Through these exercises, we identified three words that became the guiding light for our new site: bold, expert and friendly. These three words influenced every design choice, content decision and strategic element of the site. 

Strategic Positioning

Over the years, Curious Jane’s focus has evolved. While we have long been known as an ad agency that served franchise brands the website needed to do a better job of reflecting that. 

That meant putting a larger focus on our menu of services and how they support national consumer marketing, local store marketing and franchise development. 

Every aspect of the new site was designed with intention. We expanded our color scheme to include a tertiary palette optimized for digital platforms. Every element, from button colors to typography, was carefully selected to reflect our brand’s personality. 

When it came to content and language, we approached the writing as a brand-building exercise, rather than a straightforward UX project. Our messaging was shaped with our audience in mind to ensure clarity, impact and relevance to decision-makers in the franchise industry. 

Unlike our previous website, which relied on stock imagery, we worked with a talented Central Florida-based photographer to capture authentic, vibrant images that truly represent our team and culture. 

A Living, Breathing Brand 

Like Curious Jane, this website wasn’t designed to be static and over time it will evolve with the agency. Its design allows for future updates and adjustments as trends change, services evolve and client needs shift. 

As marketers, we understand that digital landscapes are ever-changing, and we’re committed to staying ahead of the curve. 

While we’re incredibly proud of our new website, we also are never fully satisfied. Our teams are always thinking about how we can improve, refine and push our work further.  

Curious Jane’s website is more than just a digital presence. It’s a reflection of who we are, what we stand for and where we’re headed.
