Position Purpose/Summary 

The Visual Designer executes creative deliverables that follow key art and align with creative strategy, helping communicate the visual expression of our clients’ brands. You’ll have the ability to deliver designs based on existing brand guidelines in a fast-paced environment. This role requires a strong understanding of visual and motion design, knowing best practices including layout, hierarchy, and typography. This role combines creativity and execution, offering the opportunity to impact how our clients communicate with their customers.  

Reports to: Creative Director 

Responsibilities 

  • Design Execution: Executes high level designs tailored for digital channels for both franchise development and consumer markets. Designs digital assets such as display ads, emails, web banners, social content and collateral based on targeted objectives. Develop clean, effective production outputs such as presentations and cross-platform digital media with potential motion graphics implementation across all. This role requires the ability to design based off key art and to develop unique concepts. 
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with content teams and senior designers to produce compelling and effective design assets. Be agile with a flexible attitude, ready to support the team by assuming other team members’ projects mid-flow when capacity dictates. Must be eager to collaborate with team members of all levels.  
  • Creative Excellence: The Visual Designer produces engaging, diverse designs in the digital space, demonstrating a passion for motion and visual design and attention to detail. Must have a demonstrated understanding of hierarchy and typography. Must be motivated and accountable for their work and that of the team. 
  • Organization: This role requires strong time management skills and the ability to be self-directed as needed while following the Creative Team’s SOPs. Be meticulous in attention to detail of naming conventions, file set up and storage. Experience in CRM project management software and DAM systems preferred. 
  • Communication: Must be able to effectively communicate and ensure the visual design represents the desired message within brand guidelines. Have experience working across teams and be capable of synthesizing feedback from multiple teams and owners. The ability to fulfill multiple project requests while simultaneously meeting aggressive deadlines is essential. 

Qualifications 

  • Ideally 3+ years professional visual design experience 
  • Have an online portfolio demonstrating versatility in style and medium 
  • Experience in video creation and editing skills; Premier Pro and After Effects 
  • Excellent working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)  
  • An understanding of design principles and best practices across digital, UI/UX and print 
  • Exceptional typography skills with meticulous attention to detail 
  • Experience with design tools such as Figma and Sketch 
  • Proactive problem solver with an eye for detail and storytellling 
  • Ability to handle multiple projects 
  • Effective communicator who can present designs to internal audiences 
  • Self-motivated with strong initiative and the ability to work independently 
  • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality 
  • Receptive to feedback with the ability to incorporate it effectively 
  • Maintains calm under pressure while effectively managing multiple projects and tight deadlines 
  • Experience with presentation tools (Canva, Powerpoint) 
  • Commitment to developing a deep understand of the company’s brand, product and services, mission, value and key differentiators 
  • Agency experience preferred 
  • Follow established processes and procedures, including workflow between teams and external clients 
  • Experience in CMS workflow environments 
  • Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Graphic Design or Communication Design
