PR & Content Writer

The role of the PR & Content Writer is to contribute to the strategy, content, copywriting, public relations, proofreading and editing needs of the agency. The position works with multiple departments and reports to the Senior Manager of PR & Communications.


  • Write and edit articles, news releases, blogs and pitches
  • Write and edit ads, lead magnets, landing pages and SEO-optimized content for websites
  • Write and edit case studies, reports, brochures, e-blasts, radio copy, etc.
  • Contribute original ideas, strategy, tags and slogans for ad campaigns
  • Utilize Cision and other platforms to distribute PR pieces to the media
  • Monitor the news and media queries for opportunities for clients
  • Seek opportunities for thought leadership at key conferences and in publications
  • Build connections with media and key journalists through a mix of channels, from traditional to digital
  • Respond to inbound media inquiries and requests
  • Prepare talking points and media presentations for clients
  • Produce monthly reports on PR efforts for assigned clients
  • Utilize excellent written and communication skills
  • Think creatively and strategically
  • Work with internal teams to create content strategy and content for client projects
  • Maintain and update assigned client style guides
  • Proofread and apply style guides to all communications going to clients and vendors
  • Keep abreast of AP and industry updates
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with clients and internal staff members

Required Skills

  • College degree in PR, journalism or English
  • Three or more years of professional writing experience, PR or journalism preferred
  • Excellent copywriting, editing and proofreading skills
  • Proficiency in spelling, grammar and AP style
  • Skill in researching and working with complicated subject matter
  • Have a strong understanding of multiplatform strategies, including digital, social, web and mass media
  • Strategic thinker with excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A high technical aptitude and attention to detail
